Интерактивная постановка в книжном клубе «КультПроСвет»

On September 29, 2022, a theatrical performance took place in the Sodruzhestvo model library No. 17 as part of the regular meeting of the KultProSvet book club.

The production "Keep your pocket wide" is an actual story about a school parent-teacher meeting with its typical characters and questions. The actors played with humor and temperament and interacted with the audience along the way.

After the end of the performance, the actors and the audience not only actively exchanged opinions on the topic, but also took part in the game "Improvisation". All participants of the event received vivid emotions.

The program "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" thanks the actors of the theater group "Creator" - Igor Rassadin, Anastasia Makarova, Ruslan Dobrov, Tatyana Zabaldueva for participating in the creative meeting.

September 22, 2022 in the creative space "Art Bazaar" of Ulyanovsk craftsmen and artisans at the site of the Central Department Store, as part of the "Wonderful World" charity educational project, students of the "Open House" social rehabilitation center took part in a master class in drawing illustrations.

Illustrator Irina Deeva taught the children how to start drawing a character and display his character using simple tricks. The children were enthusiastically engaged in creativity and each turned out to be bright illustrations.

The author of the play is Elena Novichkova, poet, playwright and member of the directorate of the Ulyanovsk-UNESCO City of Literature program.

“Keep your pocket wide” is a performance about how sometimes it is necessary to get out of your comfort zone and change your approach to everyday things.
You will not only see the play of the actors of the theater group "Creator", but you will also be able to participate in the development of the plot. We will have a discussion after the performance. Director Ignat Kunilov (Yekaterinburg) will be a special guest at the forthcoming meeting of the book club.

Международная резиденция писателей в городе Нанкин приглашает в виртуальную резиденцию писателей, поэтов и переводчиков

The Ulyanovsk-UNESCO City of Literature program invites writers, poets and translators to take part in an international literary residency hosted by the UNESCO Creative City of Nanjing (China).

Nanjing boasts a literary tradition dating back over 1,800 years. The city served as the capital of China for about 400 years under six dynasties. Its legacy from those dynasties and its diverse culture today have contributed to its role as "the most enticing destination" for travelers arriving in China.

In 2022, the UNESCO City of Literature Nanjing is offering 6 virtual residences for writers, poets and translators from UNESCO Cities of Literature around the world.

The theme of the program for 2022 is "Rivers and Literature". Rivers throughout the world have made a significant contribution to culture and civilization, making themselves a constant topic for literary creation. Waterways can serve as a source of literary imagination. They can turn into the main character in literary works. And in many cases they are the bearers of literary stories, making cultural communication fluid and far-reaching.

Residence requirements:

1. To be involved in one of the UNESCO Cities of Literature;
2. Writing experience of at least 3 years or at least one published work in print;
3. Willingness to interact with the literary communities of the UNESCO creative city of Nanjing (China);
4. Active participation in the literary events of the literary city of UNESCO Ulyanovsk;
5. Write a work in English (at least 1,000 words or 50 lines of poetry) inspired by the month-long virtual residence, or translate Chinese stories, poetry or prose into English (Copyright remains with the participants of the literary residence, but works can be used in promotional purposes of the UNESCO City of Literature Nanjing);
6. Fluency in spoken English or Chinese.

The organizers of the international literary residence provide participants with:

1. Virtual tours of the cultural attractions of Nanjing;
2. A selection of literary activities;
3. Online interaction with writers, poets, translators, literary organizations and students from the literary city of Nanjing (China);
4. Scholarship of $1,200 for each selected writer.

Accepting applications: from September 19 to October 21, 2022
Dates: from October 31 to November 30, 2022.

1. Resume with passport photo and full size photo;
2. Extracts from published works;
3. Written confirmation of connection with the Literary City, if applicable.

«Street Design Challenge 2022»

The Directorate of the Ulyanovsk-UNESCO City of Literature program invites everyone to take part in the street design challenge for the creative cities of Curitiba (Brazil), Querétaro (Mexico) and Wuhan (China) - Street Design Challenge 2022.
The Street Design Challenge 2022 will take place from November 12 to 14, 2022 and is a two-day competition where university students from around the world share their vision of how public space design can improve the quality of life.

This year, entrants will be asked to create a proposal for a suburban street redevelopment using biophilic design within 48 hours*. The challenge aims to raise awareness on the issues raised by the COP27 conference in November, as well as on the impact of climate change on the urban environment, its damage to the quality of urban life and the necessary actions to transform cities into more livable, pleasant and inclusive.

Фестиваль креативных городов ЮНЕСКО «Перекрёсток»

    From 10 to 11 September 2022, Ulyanovsk hosted the UNESCO Creative Cities Festival Crossroads, which became part of the City Day celebrations.

    The organizers of the festival were the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Population, the Administration of the City of Ulyanovsk and the Fund for Creative Technologies "Ulyanovsk - the Cultural Capital" with the support of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.

    On September 10, the Ulyanovsk Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a round table "UNESCO Creative Cities: Plans and Prospects for Cooperation, Network Projects and Formats of Interaction with International Network Members". Representatives of UNESCO Creative Cities in Russia spoke about their work and shared their immediate plans with colleagues: St. Petersburg plans to hold the Second Governor’s Cup “Best Chef of St. Petersburg Cuisine”, the gastronomic festival “MEGUSTRO”, an open scientific and practical conference “ Petersburg Culinary School"; Kazan plans to develop projects - "Music of the streets", the Republican competition of children's creativity "100//Faces"; Kargopol plans to hold a winter festival "Crystal Rings"; Ulyanovsk – to develop creative cooperation between UNESCO Creative Cities of the BRICS countries.

    On September 11, venues worked in the city center in four areas of UNESCO creative cities - literature, music, crafts and gastronomy.
    For residents and guests of the city, in the park near the Goncharov monument, educational games for children from the Einstein Museum of Entertaining Sciences, master classes in drawing on water (ebu technique) and making a little origami book “Kami no Oru” were organized. Those who wish were able to visit the educational excursion "The History of City Clocks" at the Goncharov Museum. An art object was created from the Raspberry Lada ice cream with the number 374 - the birthday of the city.
The headliner of the gastronomy festival was Alexander Bogdanov, a well-known brand chef of the Cafe Claret and Marius restaurants from St. Petersburg. Alexander prepared a magnificent omelet "Aunt Pulyar" with sauce and fire cutlets in a new format. The participants of the master class received valuable skills and culinary life hacks.

    The most massive was the literary and craft fair. 15 literary and 18 craft sites of participants from Ulyanovsk, Kazan, Kargopol worked on the alley. The visitors participated with great interest in the workshop "UNESCO Cities of Literature", the interactive game "Literary Boom" and the quest "Journey of the frigate Pallada".
    The sale of books was organized from the House of Printing, the Book+ store, Bookinist, the bookstore of the Public Library, the Simbirsk Provincial Club of Book Lovers. I.A. Goncharov” and the Kazan Antique Salon-Gallery “Retrospektiva”. The guests of the fair got acquainted with the products of the Ulyanovsk printing house "Master-Studio". The participants of the festival showed particular interest and the opportunity to make an impression on a proofreading machine to the Museum "Simbirsk Printing Houses".

 

 

     Representatives of the center of folk crafts "Bereginya" from the city of Kargopol held master classes on molding a traditional clay toy, making a key chain from birch bark and making a doll-amulet. Moreover, our participants brought clay from Kargopol. At the fair, one could buy painted Kargopol clay products.
     During the day, music was played at the entrance to the Goncharov Museum, the singer-songwriter Sergey Kochetkov and Yana Stel performed, who pleased with the performance of classical compositions on the synthesizer.
    In the courtyard of the Goncharov Museum, modern music by Ulyanovsk performers sounded: PANiN!, Idon Care, THREE-TONNER, Princess Pitch, KIRA WINTER. More than 70 listeners plunged into the creative atmosphere of the festival.
    The guest of honor of the festival in the Pribrezhny park was the chamber ballet Panther from the city of Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan, residents of the city of Ulyanovsk highly appreciated the work of ballet dancers (artistic director - Ibragimov Nail Rafaelevich).

On September 11, on City Day, Ulyanovsk will host the UNESCO Creative Cities Festival Crossroads.
