The ninth International Festival of German Culture "Days of Germany" will be held in Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad on December 8-11.

According to Tatyana Ivshina, director of the Ulyanovsk Capital of Culture Foundation, this year the festival will delight the residents of the region with an interesting program: it will be dedicated to the topics of culture, history, literature, creative industries and sustainable development.

“German identity will be reflected in various events. The central event of the festival will be the exhibition “Albrecht Durer and his contemporaries. German engraving of the XV-XVI centuries. 2021 marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest masters of the Renaissance. The exhibition dedicated to this date will acquaint visitors with a rich collection of engravings and drawings by Durer from the private collection of Vladimir Gurevich Belikov, doctor of technical sciences and collector (Moscow). In total, 103 original works by 19 authors of German engraving will be presented,” she said.

The festival program will also include creative online meetings and lectures by representatives of German culture, poster exhibitions, film screenings, master classes, an intellectual game about German culture and a swap party.

The venues for holding the Days of Germany will be the creative spaces "Quarter" and "Horizont", the Ulyanovsk Museum of Fine Arts of the 20th-21st centuries, the Historical and Memorial Center-Museum of I.A. Goncharov and other places in Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad.

The festival is traditionally organized by the Ulyanovsk - Cultural Capital Foundation with the support of the German Embassy in Moscow. All events will be held subject to the restrictions in force in the region.
