Every year on March 21, the whole world celebrates Poetry Day. The holiday was established by UNESCO in the resolution of the 30th session of the General Conference on November 15, 1999. Its main goal is to "support linguistic diversity through poetic expression and enable endangered languages to be heard."
The UNESCO City of Literature Ulyanovsk participated in writing an international chain of poems dedicated to World Poetry Day.
