Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature: a partner and co-organizer of the "The Colors of Childhood Inspiration” international exhibition
11.09.2023

On City Day, September 10, in Pobeda Park, “The Colors of Childhood Inspiration” international exhibition of children's creativity took place.

Residents and guests of the city had an opportunity to see the best children's drawings from 6 countries: Turkey, China, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia. Our country was represented at the exhibition by Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Ulyanovsk and Cherdaklinsky district.

Oleg Gribalev, Deputy Mayor of the city, Head of the Leninsky district administration,  congratulated the citizens and teachers of Children's Art Schools and Children's Creativity Centers, whose students drew the best drawings, on the 375th anniversary of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk..

The organizers of the exhibition are the “Center for Development and Support of Creative Projects ‘Simbirsk’” Autonomous Non-profit Organization and the Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature Directorate.

The idea to show city residents the boundless creativity of children participating in the “The Colors of Childhood Inspiration”  International Festival arose as part of the “Creative City” competition of creative projects and initiatives in the field of culture.

“We are very pleased that the drawings of our students were demonstrated at the “The Colors of Childhood Inspiration”   International Exhibition. It is important for children, regardless of where in the world they live, to feel the significance of what they do. Such international exhibitions provide an opportunity not only to show off one’s creative skills, but also to look at other children’ abilities, and this is always useful for creative people. It was interesting for us to see the works of participants from other countries,” said Maria Usmankina, one of the teachers of the Children’s Art School.

The “The Colors of Childhood Inspiration” exhibition was organized thanks to the “Creative City” competition grant, dedicated to the 375th anniversary of the founding of the city of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk, in the “Fest-Ulyanovsk” category. This city competition is held by the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Population of the Ulyanovsk City Administration together with the “Directorate of Ulyanovsk Parks”. 31 drawings of children participating in the festival were exhibited on easels and on stands; the stands were purchased as part of the “Creative City” competition.
