On January 18, 2022 at 2.30 p.m. in the model central City Library named by I.A. Goncharov within the framework of the Local History Book Week, an exhibition of illustrations for the travel sketchbook of I.A. Goncharov's novel "Frigate Pallada" will be presented.

In December 2021, as part of the program activities of the OOGO Russian Cultural Foundation, together with the Centralized Library System of Ulyanovsk, Ivan Aleksandrovich Goncharov's novel "Frigate Pallada" was published in Russian and English in the format of a travel sketchbook. Travel sketchbook is a popular format of sketches or writings on the way. Modern travelers keep such sketchbooks for themselves and share them on social networks. The author of the illustrations for the travel sketchbook is the Ulyanovsk artist Yulia Uzryutova. Creating such sketches is a common thing for Julia.  She takes them on a jorney around

Ulyanovsk region and  different countries of the world. Surprisingly that shortly before the offer to work on creating illustrations for the travel sketchbook, she reread the novel "Frigate Pallada" and mentally sailed with a famous countryman across the seas and oceans.

The work on the book lasted for 4 months. Yulia Uzryutova made the illustrations in her usual sketching technique (quick sketches) using watercolors and liner.
