Children traveled to the world of literature, history and gastronomy. Future officers learned how strong the friendship was between Alexander Pushkin and the Simbirsk poet Nikolai Yazykov, and learned about the legends related to the great poet’s visit to Simbirsk. Of great interest were the stories about what dishes Pushkin loved, and what dishes the Simbirians surprised him with. And, of course, the children visited the monument to the Generalissimo, the great commander Alexander Suvorov, who also visited Simbirsk and it was he who accompanied the captured rebel Pugachev.
Traveling through the historical sights of Simbirsk-Ulyanovsk has become an important part of the patriotic education of cadets. Many of them came from other cities to study in Ulyanovsk, and therefore their acquaintance with the historical center of the city was unforgettable!
