The Directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" invites you to take part in the traditional night literary tour of the city by tram! It will take place on September 12th. This time the theme of the tour will be the rethinking of time. Passengers on the Literary Tram are in for some surprises, including a video exclusive from a famous Chinese writer.

"LiteraTour by Tram" is an opportunity to make a night journey into the world of modern literature and get acquainted with the works of authors from UNESCO cities of literature. This year you will hear texts from Melbourne, Edinburgh, Dunedin, Puchon, Nanjing, Krakow, Slemani translated by Ulyanovsk poet Sergey Gogin, as well as poems by Ulyanovsk poets.

During the action, texts by the authors of the UNESCO cities of literature will be heard, dedicated to the theme of this year - the rethinking of time caused by the pandemic. The surprise will be a special video prepared for the action by the famous Chinese writer Bi Feiyu: he recorded an excerpt about time from his famous novel "Massage". The guests will also hear a poem by the Nobel laureate in literature, Polish author Wislawa Szymborska (1923-2012) - the participants of the action will read her poem "The Moment".

Fragments of the works will be performed by famous people of the city: Elena Toporkova, head of the department of culture and leisure of the population of the Ulyanovsk administration, Elena Domashevskaya, director of the Civic Education Club, journalist Daria Rykova, actress of the Absurdus theater Margarita Matyushinskaya, head of staff of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Ulyanovsk Region Artur Sirachev, journalist Elena Skvortsova. Ulyanovsk poets Danila Nozdryakov, Igor Ulitin and Vyacheslav Savin will be special guests of the Literary Tram.

LiteraTour will take place on September 12 at 20:00. All registered participants will receive information about the meeting point.
