The Directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" and Ulyanovskelectrotrans invite you to take part in a night literary tour of the city by tram!

"LiteraTour by Tram" is an opportunity to make a night journey into the world of modern literature and get acquainted with the works of authors from UNESCO cities of literature. This year you will hear texts from Utrecht, Barcelona, ​​Melbourne, Nottingham, Ljubljana, Dunedin and Ulyanovsk. The poems of the surrealist poet from the Canadian Coburg Stuart Ross will also be a surprise.

Fragments of works will be performed by actors, journalists, employees of the city administration and public figures: Elena Toporkova, Elena Domashevskaya, Oksana Solntseva, Natalia Shatskova, Evgenia Timchenko, Anton Nikitin. Ulyanovsk poets Danila Nozdryakov and Vyacheslav Savin, as well as the poet, prose writer and editor from Ljubljana Andrey Khochevar, a participant in the literary residence in Ulyanovsk, will be special guests of the Literary Tram. There will also be a poem by Dunedin poet David Howard, who will be a guest at the Literary Residency in September.

Andrei Hochevar (Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a poet, writer, critic, editor-in-chief of the LUD Literatura magazine and the Prišlek series, author of six books of poetry (the first of which was nominated for the Best Debut Award, the last one for the Veronika Award) and one collection of short stories. Hochevar's texts were translated into foreign languages, he participated in international literary festivals, including in Russia. At the residence, Andrei Khochevar is working on a series of poems, as well as a report on the literary life of Ulyanovsk. The guest from Slovenia is interested in the social circumstances of literature, which, in his opinion, have not been sufficiently studied.

David Howard (Dunedin, New Zealand) is the author of six books, a participant in international writers' residences, a participant in exhibitions and performances, and an editor of various publications, including those dedicated to Russian authors. His works have been translated into European languages, and The Ones Who Keep Quiet was included in the list of the best books of the year according to the well-known New Zealand magazine The New Zealand Listener. Howard's literary awards include the Mid-Career Writers' Award (2009), the University of the South Pacific Poetry Prize (2011), and the University of Otago Robert Burns Scholarship (2013). In Ulyanovsk, the author is going to write a poetic cycle related to the city, as well as work with one of the local composers to create musical accompaniment to the texts.

Danila Nozdryakov (b. 1986) is a poet. Born and lives in Ulyanovsk. Graduated from Ulyanovsk State University. He worked as a teacher of philosophy and history, now a journalist. Poems were published on the Polutona portal, in the magazines Translit, Simbirsk, Literature, in the collection Music of Words: 100 New Names, etc. Participant of literary festivals in Cheboksary ("Voice-A"), Tolyatti, Saratov ("Centre of Spring"). He was on the long list of the literary award "Lyceum" named after A.S. Pushkin (2018). Winner of the V International Literary Competition "Verlibre" (2018) in the nominations "Poetry" and "Prose". Author of two collections of short stories - "Two-humped deer" (2016) and "People with a reduced social opening" (2019).

Vyacheslav Savin (1989) - poet. Born in Mytishchi. He spent his early childhood in the countryside. Since 1995 lives in Ulyanovsk. After graduating from high school, he entered the law faculty of UlGU, after two years of study he left it for the sake of the philological faculty of UlSPU. He taught Russian language and literature at school, now he works in the library. Participated in the meeting of young writers of the joint venture of Moscow (2011). Publications: magazine "Simbirsk", "Volga", "Znamya", etc. Participated in the seminar of the poetry department of the magazine "Znamya" at the Forum of the SEIP Foundation (Lipki-2012).
