April meeting as part of the Amazing World project
28.04.2022

On April 22, as part of the Wonderful World charitable educational project, pupils of the Children's Home Nightingale Grove and Children's Home SKDD visited the scientific library and the University of UlGU.
An excellent start to the event was the informative story of the staff of the scientific library about its history and development. The children listened attentively and examined the rare books of Karamzin, which are stored in this library.

The next moment was a spellbinding performance by the choir of USU students. They sang the student anthem "Gaudeamus" in Latin. The joint sound of voices gave a heartfelt atmosphere and now the children will recognize the student anthem by ear.
A couple of lines about the student choir of Ulyanovsk State University. The choir was formed with the opening of the direction "Conducting" in 1997 under the direction of Filyanina Larisa Aleksandrovna, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Musical and Instrumental Art, Conducting and Musicology of the Faculty of Culture and Art of the Ural State University, assistant to the rector of the Ural State University on issues of interaction with public associations in the field of culture and art, a member of the Presidium of the All-Russian Choral Society.
From music, the guys moved on to a serious topic dedicated to a thematic exhibition dedicated to the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. On the eve of the anniversary of the memory of the Great Patriotic War, the staff of the scientific library launched the project "Living Memory" and the guys replenished the exposition "Star of Memory".

In audience number 316, the guys were in for a surprise. Insects and animals were brought to them from the Ecocampus natural science complex of the regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. Teachers Minyakova Marina Gennadievna and Vorotnikov Anton Petrovich introduced the children to the peculiarities of the behavior and lifestyle of four-legged animals. Teenagers were able not only to see, but also to pet the animals. Delight and joy from such a meeting knew no bounds.

After some time, the children had an Easter master class "Bird from Yarn". And soon a whole "flock of birds" fluttered out of the hands of the pupils of the Nightingale Grove.

Tea drinking with the most delicious pastries from the university canteen was especially enjoyed by the children. During this time, they were able to take a break from the brainstorming that hit them with a stream of information.
Everything coincided on one day, and the children were lucky to catch the USU Open Doors Day. This allowed them to plunge into the world of students. We hope that thanks to the events of this day, many of them will be able to return to the university as its students!
The children also took part in an interactive tour about the writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This part of the event was held at the Faculty of Linguistics, Intercultural Relations and Professional Communication of USU and was prepared by the senior lecturer of the Department of German and French Languages Svetlana Gennadievna Vorobieva and her students.

At the end, a performance by a young musician and author's songwriter Vlad Tikhonov was organized. He told the children about the process of writing poetry, finding inspiration in everyday life and through nature. Vlad is a great friend and volunteer of the Amazing World project.

We sincerely thank the friendly staff of the university and the scientific library of USU for the most interesting program and cordial atmosphere. The children were satisfied with the meeting, where they received useful knowledge, memorable gifts and positive emotions. We also thank the head of the charity project for career guidance and labor adaptation of children from orphanages and rehabilitation centers "The Gift of Fate" Olga Skotnikova for organizing and participating in the event.

See you soon in May!
