Ulyanovsk Regional Library for Children and Youth named after S.T. Aksakova invites residents of the region aged 18 to 35 to become participants in the Regional Festival-Competition "Poetry aloud".

The competition will be held in two stages. The participants of the competition record their recitation by heart of one or several poems on video and send the video to the organizers of the I (municipal) stage by e-mail before September 11, 2020. Stage I is organized and conducted by the central libraries of the municipalities of the Ulyanovsk region.

The winners of the municipal stages will become participants in the Final of the festival-competition, which will be held on September 21 in Aksakovka on the day of the 260th anniversary of the famous Russian poet and fabulist Ivan Ivanovich Dmitriev.

The format of the Final will be determined during the summer, depending on the epidemiological situation in the region.

“Poetry aloud” is a competition of readers, not poets. Reading of works of one's own composition within the framework of the competition is not allowed. Participants can choose works of any author from the list of recommended ones specified in the Appendix to the Regulations on the competition-festival.
