It will be the eighth for the region and will be part of the program of the X International Cultural Forum. The date of the festival is from 4 to 13 September.

In 2020, the main goal of the festival will be the unification and interaction of cities, German and Russian culture online, the exchange of experience in various cultural fields. Representatives of the German cities Giessen, Darmstadt, as well as the UNESCO music city Mannheim are invited to participate in the festival. The key areas will be: music, art, sports, cinema, German language and history. Among the tasks are the strengthening of cultural cooperation between the Ulyanovsk region and Germany, the study of the experience of German colleagues and its application by the residents of the city in various professional creative fields.

For example, the festival will host an online project session “Bicycle culture in urban space”. Cycling infrastructure developer Jonas Eberlein (Darmstadt, Germany) will talk about cycling in his country: how it was in the past, how the situation has changed over time, and what we have come to now. The speaker will contact the participants of the event using the Zoom platform, so there will be an opportunity to ask him questions. After the online part, there will be a discussion of ideas and projects that will allow the development of cycling in Ulyanovsk.

The festival events will include thematic exhibitions dedicated to German landscapes and architecture, common stereotypes about Germany, heroes of fairy tales and comics; bike tour to the village of Bogdashkino - a settlement of Russian Germans; conversation clubs; thematic workshops, etc.

There will also be a music concert, where German performers will perform online, and teams from Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad will perform live.

All mass offline events will be held outdoors, indoors - no more than 30 people, subject to the methodological recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor to ensure preventive measures. Depending on the pandemic situation and weather conditions, the festival program is subject to change.
