We are glad to share the news that the Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature program has become an information partner of the New Readings project! This is a new and very interesting event format for our city, the purpose of which, in addition to cultural enlightenment of its participants and the manifestation of their creative abilities and depth of thought, is also to raise funds for charity.
"New Readings" is a project about modern drama, in which non-professional actors take part - politicians, businessmen, people of creative professions. The project started in Ulyanovsk in the summer of 2021. The reading of Vyrypaev's play "The Iranian Conference" gathered about 100 spectators, 63 thousand rubles from ticket sales were used to buy pulse oximeters for the covid hospital.
On April 12, as part of the New Readings project dedicated to modern dramaturgy, entrepreneurs will present Alexei Zhitkovsky's play Cosmos. Theatrical reading will be held with the support of the Rotary Club of Ulyanovsk.
All funds raised at the event will be directed to the regional branch of VORDI for a charitable purpose - the rehabilitation of disabled children. After the reading, according to tradition, there will be a discussion of the play with the audience and actors.
Cosmos is a story that could have happened in any small town. Tatyana, an English teacher from Bugulma, a widow raising a teenage son, learns that a classmate, the only surviving boy from the whole class, is coming to her hometown. And he not only survived, but became an astronaut ...
