The city of Angouleme (France) - the world capital of comics proposes to increase the presence of comic art in public places and announces the competition "Creating street furniture in the style of" Comic "for the city of Angouleme.

As part of the Design Comic Style Outdoor Furniture competition, beginners and advanced artists are invited to design an original piece of comic style outdoor furniture to be displayed in a public space. Based on an analysis of local architecture, Angouleme proposes to develop three types of urban space furniture: seating furniture, safety signs around the elementary school, and playground furniture.

An international jury of elected officials and city departments, local partners, international artists, designers and illustrators will select 3 pairs of finalists based on a common dossier (resume, cover letter, art dossier, comic book/design concept note).

The finalists will travel to the city of Angouleme for a study visit from December 5-6, 2022, and the winning design will be implemented before the end of 2023 and presented during the Angouleme International Comics Festival in 2024.
