From March 22 to March 28, 2021, the traditional Week of Children's and Youth Books will be held in the libraries of Ulyanovsk, aimed at popularizing the book among children and adolescents.

The All-Russian Week of Children's and Youth Books traditionally takes place at the end of March. The history of this holiday began in the distant military year of 1943. The children's writer Lev Kassil came up with the name for the holiday - "Knizhka's Name Day". Since then, holding the Week has become a good tradition that has covered the whole country.

During the week, libraries will host literary challenges, holiday programs, games and quizzes.

On March 22 at 12:00 noon, Model Family Library No. 18 will launch the Book_I_Family online challenge. To become a member, you need to take a photo with your favorite book and publish it on the social network VKontakte with the hashtag #Book_I_Family. The challenge also involves offline participation. Come to the library with the whole family and take pictures in the walls of the library with your favorite book.

March 23 at 11.00 in the model central city library. I.A. Goncharov, a theatrical performance “This holiday is not for boredom if you picked up a book” will be held for children of primary school age. Library staff will introduce readers to the literary heroes of their favorite books. On the same day, at 13.00 in the library No. N.G. Zyrin will host a festive program "Benefit performance of three generations: what grandparents read, what moms and dads read, what we read."
