The Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature Program team, has started an educational charity project "Incredible World". This is a social initiative to help children in a difficult life situation, and a way to draw society's attention to children who require attention and support from adults.

"We - organizers, volunteers from different cities and countries - have united to help children realize themselves in this huge, chaotic world. I would like to note that the project reflects and supports the values of the UNESCO World Organization, including the support of creative initiatives and widening of possibilities of professionals in the field of culture and literature, and what is especially important - improving access to cultural life and participation in it, of socially vulnerable members of our society." – said Natalia Dashuk, Deputy Director of Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature program office.

The project brought together 14 special institutions of Ulyanovsk, 10 creative platforms for organizing creative meetings with children and invited 10 volunteer lecturers. The educational project "Incredible World" is focused on supporting talented children from 7 to 17 years of age from orphanages and rehabilitation centers in Ulyanovsk city. The program includes monthly meetings with professionals from different areas of the creative industry of the city, as well as acquaintance with the basics of the world of art and literature. Among the volunteer lecturers are representatives of different cities in Russia and United Kingdom: Vikrant Tyk (London), founder and ideologist of the studio of architectural, interior and landscape design "SAV"; Ilya Valov (Ulyanovsk), producer, event marketing specialist, marketing director of Dars Development; Anna Carvaleiro (Ulyanovsk) - director of the Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum; Daria Firsova (St. Petersburg), art critic, curator of the Art.Coordinate Foundation project and others.

The project partners are : The Council of Writers of Ulyanovsk (Russia), the Union of Young Writers of the Ulyanovsk region, the Ministry of Art and Cultural Policy of the Ulyanovsk region, the Administration of  Ulyanovsk, the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Population of the Administration of Ulyanovsk, the Charity project "Gift of Fate", OGBUK Palace of Books - Ulyanovsk Regional Scientific Library named by V. I. Lenin, Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University named by I.N. Ulyanov, Ulyanovsk State University, Pedagogical College, Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named by I. A. Goncharov and Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum.

The first meeting within the framework of the project took place on February 10 at 3:00 p.m. on the basis of the creative business space "Quarter”. The project participants have learnt about the program "Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature ", found out about the amazing people of Simbirsk (Simbirsk was renamed to Ulyanovsk in 1924).
