The UNESCO City of Literature Krakow is offering a free summer residence for writers from other UNESCO Literary Cities from 1 June to 31 August 2022.

The program is intended for all aspiring writers and poets who have at least one published work in any genre and wish to learn more about the Polish literary community.

The summer residence is a great opportunity to improve your writing skills, find the best conditions for creative work, and present your works to a new audience.

What is required to participate?

• At least one published work
• Spoken English at the Upper-Intermediate level.
• Interest in the Central European region.
• Willingness to participate in the literary life of Krakow, attend events, give promotional interviews.

Participants of the residence will be paid transportation costs to Krakow and back, as well as a guaranteed scholarship.

Applicants should use this month in Krakow for literary work. The main task of the participants will be writing a text (fiction or popular science) in which the city of Krakow will be presented. This text will subsequently be published and used for promotional purposes.
