On November 28 at 13:00 at the Palace of the Book there will be a thematic tour with a master class "Everything about Yo and not only ...".

The letter "Ё" is an amazing letter of the Russian alphabet and on November 29 it traditionally celebrates its birthday. It was on November 29, 1783 that, according to legend, they first spoke of the need to use a new letter in the Russian alphabet.

The Palace of the Book invites everyone to a thematic walking tour, during which the tourists will get acquainted with the history of the 7th letter of the Russian alphabet, learn about the role our outstanding fellow countryman Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin played in its history and why this letter is commonly called Simbirsk.

The tour will begin in N.M. Karamzin, where tourists will get acquainted with the history of the first city monument that adorned Simbirsk 175 years ago, and find out why Simbirsk people have an ambiguous attitude towards the creation of Academician Galberg.

Then the route will proceed to, perhaps, one of the most unusual monuments of Ulyanovsk - the monument of the letter Yo, and the tour will end with a visit to the Palace of the Book, where the tourists will become participants in the "Yo-quiz" and the master class "Yoshkin toys", where they can make or paint crafts from salt dough.

Sightseeing interactive tour "Palace on the Crown"

What is the history of one of the oldest buildings in the city? Where are pre-revolutionary publications stored? What famous people have visited the library? Tourists will be able to learn all this and much more during a tour of the building of the Assembly of the Nobility, built according to the "Royal Word of the Monarch" by Nicholas I, so that "the nobility would have a decent home for its class."

"Architectural miracle" - this is what contemporaries called the building of the Nobility Assembly. Stucco, enfilades, numerous halls, and the main pearl - the ballroom. Business meetings, meetings, dinners, balls were held in the Assembly of Nobility. You can walk through these halls and stairs, see the coats of arms of the Simbirsk province, visit the building that housed the predecessor of the Ulyanovsk Regional Scientific Library, the Karamzin Public Library, on our unusual tour.

Tram and walking tour "Literary Simbirsk"

In September 2020, the Reading Transport project was launched. Now trams, trolleybuses and a bus run around the city, in which you can download a book for free on any device and read on the spot.

Continuing the project, the Palace of the Book invites you to take part in the tram and walking tour "Literary Simbirsk". During the tour, everyone will be able to get acquainted with the memorable places associated with the life and work of such prominent writers as Karamzin, Dmitriev, Yazykov, Turgenev, Minaev and Goncharov. Having passed through the central streets of the city, you will find out how A.N. Radishchev, S.T. Aksakov, D.V. Davydov; where eminent residents of Simbirsk lived, which of the famous writers visited our city in different years.

Walking along the walking route, you can see the house of the poet N.M. Yazykov, walk along the Karamzinsky public garden and imagine where the Governor's House was located, where A.S. Pushkin, as well as the houses of the Simbirsk nobles. The tour will end with a visit to the building of the Noble Assembly, where in 1848 the Karamzin public library was opened.

The tour will take place with a group of at least 20 people!
