Two literary projects of Ulyanovsk NGOs received support from the Russian Cultural Foundation at once
22.05.2020

The winners of the Competition for the provision of grants to non-profit organizations within the framework of the federal project "Creative People" of the national project "Culture", conducted by the All-Russian public-state organization "Russian Fund of Culture", have become known. The winners included the projects of the Autonomous non-profit organization "Ulyanovsk Civic Education Club" and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Profi Center".

The projects will be implemented with the support of the Directorate "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" and the Administration of the city of Ulyanovsk. Preparations for their implementation will begin in June.

“We hope that in the near future restrictions on holding mass events will be lifted and the Amphibrachius Interregional Book Festival will be held in September 2020 without rescheduling,” comments Elena Domashevskaya, director of ANO UKGO.

For the festival, the organizers chose Federation Street as a venue. As planned, a book fair will unfold here and literary art objects will appear, which will remain on the street after it ends. Well-known Russian authors will be invited to participate in the festival, and they will hold literary workshops and autograph sessions for the townspeople. Ulyanovsk poets and musical groups will perform on the central stage of the festival.

“The idea of the festival is to show the amazing property of literature to permeate many types of art. Through lyrics, movies, hand-made art, fine arts, literature enters our everyday life. We even organize an intellectual platform dedicated to literature. And most importantly, we will try to create a unique atmosphere of the city festival, where each resident will be comfortable and interesting. It is these events that make the city creative and creative,” Elena notes.

The second project, which received a grant, "International Children's Writers' Residence" starts in a remote format. The selection for participation in the residence will take place according to the results of the Internet competition "I am a writer" among readers and employees of the International Network of Libraries of the Commonwealth of the Sergei Mikhalkov Estate, which includes organizations from 5 countries of the world (Russia, Poland, Slovenia, the Republic of Belarus, Ireland).

In addition, an online educational course will be developed and conducted for librarians throughout the country, including blocks on management in the field of culture, event management, social design, and IT technologies. The course will be held on the educational Internet platform ANO "Profi Center".

“Tandems of a librarian and a young reader will take part in the competition. The winners will spend several days in Ulyanovsk. We are preparing a rich program of the residency, every day the participants will learn a lot of new things at the literary laboratory, meet interesting speakers (writers, bloggers, directors), and perform practical tasks. The result of the work will be the publication of a collection of works written by the guys during their stay in Ulyanovsk, ”explained Konstantin Ilyin, project manager of ANO Profi-Center.

“We have been working in the program for the fifth year, we have established ourselves as an active participant in the UNESCO Cities of Literature Network. Every year we hold many events, including those with the participation of writers and poets from other countries. Both the Amphibrachius festival and the children's writer's residence are large-scale projects that will allow the city to once again declare its status. Our partners in the UNESCO Cities of Literature Network will join the projects,” said Elena Titova, coordinator of the Ulyanovsk – UNESCO City of Literature program.

The project organizers are open to cooperation and invite everyone to discuss the program of events and participate in the implementation of projects that will undoubtedly fill the cultural life of the city and become highlights of the year.
