Gwangju, the UNESCO City of Media Arts in South Korea, presented a video installation dedicated to projects in different cities around the world that reflect the process of cultural transformation during the pandemic. Ulyanovsk, the UNESCO City of Literature, also joined the action.

The video installation is a large screen made in the form of a protective mask. It broadcasts information on how UNESCO Creative Cities are coping with the organization of cultural events in the context of the coronavirus. Network cities are taking a variety of measures to transform art programs. These are concerts without spectators, and online festivals, and social distance, and the transfer of art residences to an online format, as well as actions to support citizens involved in creativity, online exhibitions, online education, creative online competitions, etc.

Information about several projects of Ulyanovsk at once entered the international video installation. Thus, Ulyanovsk librarians held a flash mob “Stay at home and read”. Also, the Directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" organized an international online exhibition "The City as a Writer's Workplace", which brought together 100 photographs from writers and artists from around the world. In addition, the International Children's Writers' Residence in Ulyanovsk was transformed into a hybrid format, which received 100 applications from authors aged 11-16 from 24 regions of Russia and three countries. 20 young authors and their curators-librarians took part in online and offline work. Based on the results of the residence, organized by ANO Profi-Center with the support of the Directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" and the CLS, a collection of texts of its participants will be prepared.

A video with the cultural practices of UNESCO Creative Cities during the pandemic, incl. with Ulyanovsk practitioners, broadcast on the video installation screen
