Vulyanovsk, UNESCO City of Literature, created a collection of clothes, the main idea of which was to popularize reading. Irina Malova was inspired by the architecture and interiors of the city's main library, the Palace of Books, to develop the collection of clothing designer. Spring-summer collection "Read, dream, create!" It is also called upon to actualize interest in the Russian language.
“We used to read everywhere: in public transport, at home, on vacation. Now paper books have been replaced by electronic ones, the Internet has become the main source of information. The culture of reading is leaving, and we want to pay attention to it. Through our collection, we ask questions that concern us: what will happen in the near future with the huge printing industry, what will replace reading in the near future, is it possible to return the popularity of books and how to do this? The walls of the library and its architecture became the basis for creating prints of the new collection. We “grew” them: we transferred the drawings to the fabric and sewed feminine dresses with a flying silhouette. Perforated leather was used as a material for accessories,” said Irina Malova, fashion designer, author of the collection, creative director of the KUZINA brand.

The presentation of the collection will take place in Ulyanovsk on February 27 with the support of the UNESCO Chair "Title Languages in the Intercultural Educational Space" of the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University.
“Over the past 20 years, Russian letters have been in trend among fashion designers. Clothing designers are inspired by the Cyrillic alphabet, for them it is an unusual, beautiful pattern that becomes the highlight of many collections. We are shaping fashion for Russian,” says Alisa Bogatova, organizer and producer of Ulyanovsk Fashion Week, president of the Association of Light Industry and Design Professionals.
A video with an overview of the collection can be viewed on the Instagram of the clothing creators.
