Why does the legend say that Emelyan Pugachev was kept captive in the basement of a drama theater? Where was he really?
Today, September 20, the participants of the “This is Pushkin!” city tour dedicated to Emelyan Pugachev and Alexander Pushkin - students of Lyceum №38 - learned about these and other interesting historical facts and myths.
The project is dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the great poet’s stay in Simbirsk. What does Pugachev have to do with it? Alexander Sergeevich arrived here in search of valuable information about the Pugachev’s rebellion. As a result of the trip, he created two works - "The History of Pugachev" and the story "The Captain's Daughter".
“This is Pushkin!” project is implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The organizers of the project: Ulyanovsk UNESCO City of Literature, the Ulyanovsk Regional Art Museum and the “Center for Development and Support of Creative Projects “Simbirsk” Autonomous Non-profit Organization.
