On February 14, the International BookGivingDay is celebrated, which unites everyone who gives books to children and instills in them a love of reading.

From February 7 to 14, city libraries will join the All-Russian event "Give books with love - 2022", organized by the Association of Cultural, Art and Education Workers to introduce children to reading "Raising the Reader" with the support of the Russian State Children's Library.

In the Centralized Library System of Ulyanovsk, the "Gift Day" event was held for the first time 18 years ago. During this time, caring citizens have donated more than 6,000 thousand books to libraries.

- This year, participation in the All-Russian event "Give books with love" is especially symbolic.  2022 has been declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin as the "Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia". The involvement of citizens in the event allows us to form cultural values through the book, as well as to maintain the traditions of charity in the city, - said Elena Toporkova, Head of the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Population of the Ulyanovsk City Administration.

Employees of the city libraries invite residents of Ulyanovsk to join the event "Give books with love-2022"! Donated books can be of any genre: fairy tales, fantasy, non-fiction, detective stories, classics, adventures and so on. Books can be brought to any city library. The most generous and active givers will be marked with letters of thanks, and their names will be entered in the "Book of Givers"..
