"The Only Question" is a project of Ulyanovsk - UNESCO Literary City program aimed at developing creative communication between writers from different countries. The project involves 40 authors from 18 UNESCO literary cities (or related cities).
During the project, the directorate of the program "Ulyanovsk – UNESCO City of Literature" invited authors from literary cities to imagine that they have the opportunity to ask a writer or a poet from other Unesco creative cities, just one question!
The initiative will help to introduce authors from the cities of the network to each other and establish their dialogue. The project will also make it possible to understand what issues concern authors from different countries today. In addition, it will give readers the opportunity to get to know new writers.
The authors' questions and answers (in Russian and English), together with a brief biography of each participant and links to publications, will regularly appear on the website of the Ulyanovsk – UNESCO Literary City program, the websites of other literary cities of the network, and on social networks. The materials will also be offered for publication to the project partners: literary magazines, libraries, literary media and mass media. As a result of the project, an online anthology with all questions and answers (in Russian and English) will be published in 2022.
