The Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature program actively cooperates with representatives of the international community - writers, poets, representatives of the creative industries. The most important element of such interaction is the English language. The project to create a translation center is a work carried out jointly with Ulyanovsk State University. Translation into a universal international language of communication brings many advantages: firstly, the works are embodied in a foreign language, readers from other countries will be able to get acquainted with their work, and secondly, the possibilities of the authors themselves are expanding: they can be heard all over the world, receive participation in international competitions. The Translation Center is a project that allows you to connect translators and talented writers and poets of the Ulyanovsk region. In addition, this is a great practice for students who get the opportunity to work on translation with professionals and native speakers and a chance to try their hand at literary translation, as well as a new opportunity for authors.
